The Mitsubishi Research Institute and the AIST Group commenced joint research on ecosystem structures for building and operating national and urban digital twins on December 18. This joint research project aims to create an environment in which anyone can try out digital twins for themselves. Trial operations of the digital twin test bed to be developed are slated to begin sometime in fiscal year 2024 by multiple local governments. A study group to validate and disseminate various use cases to resolve issues with the aim of elevating the efficiency and sophistication of local government operations will also be launched.
