While Japan is a country that prides itself on being a nation at the cutting edge of science and technology, its international competitiveness has declined, and it has suffered low rates of GDP growth over the past three decades. Nevertheless, the individual strengths of its scientists and engineers have not diminished.

We believe that we need to strengthen management and marketing strengths from the long-term perspective and focus on addressing major societal challenges. The innovation and industrial sectors that will help to forge the future of this country will be strengthened thanks to the convergence of the brilliance of the management and marketing capabilities in all its different forms needed to maneuver open innovation for the realization of time-to-market, time-to-design, and time-to-scale gains. AIST Solutions was launched in April 2023 as an enterprise that will put a national innovation ecosystem into practice.

We will accelerate open innovation by fully mobilizing science and technology as accumulated by AIST and its partners in order to solve societal issues and fortify industrial capabilities across six different solution domains.

AIST Solutions, in concert with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), combines technology and marketing to help bring forth a beautiful society of the future through the implementation of a national innovation ecosystem. 

AIST Solutions develops projects across six different solution areas in light of the research-promotion functions of AIST, the technological assets that have been cultivated by AIST to date, and market needs that should be satisfied.

 With a focus on these areas, AIST Solutions is working to provide technological assets, coordinate joint research projects, carry out proof-of-concept projects with a view to eventual implementation in society, and develop supply chains.
