Konica Minolta, Inc. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Toshimitsu Taiko; hereinafter referred to as “Konica Minolta”), the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Kazuhiko Ishimura; hereinafter referred to as “AIST”), and AIST Solutions Co. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; president: Kiyoharu Osaka; hereinafter referred to as “AIST Solutions”) today established the Konica Minolta-AIST collaborative research lab for bioprocessing technology (hereinafter referred to as “bioprocessing research lab”).
It is hoped that this project will help solve engineering issues that will arise when bioprocessing is scaled up and will then lead to the realization of a next-generation bio-production management system oriented towards the manufacturing of highly functional materials based on the use of microorganisms.
